"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so
much." - Helen Keller
The Vipers
Netball Club is run solely by volunteers. Committee members and
officials are not paid for the work they do running this netball club. Much of
this work goes on ‘behind the scenes’ throughout the whole year, with the
day-to-day administration of running a sporting club taking up many hours. As a
result, the committee has decided to introduce a “Volunteer Levy” for the
following seasons to impress upon players’ families the urgent need to have
volunteer assistance to successfully operate the running of the club. Those that participate in either volunteer
roles, or activities available will have this levy refunded. There will be many volunteering opportunities
throughout the season - some that will only take an hour, others longer, so
please help share the load where you can. Vipers Netball Club are not asking
too much, just a few hours per season.
Why introduce a volunteer
Levy?
The levy is
introduced to encourage more involvement by members in the day-to-day running
and activities required for the continued success of our club. Money raised by the levy is not used to fund
club expenses – in a perfect world, every family will volunteer, and every
family will have the levy refunded at the end of the season.
Volunteer levy
For the 2025 season, Vipers Netball Club
will implement a $40 per player volunteer levy which is capped at $80 per
family to encourage more involvement by members in the day-to-day running and
activities required for the continued success of our club.
The levy is paid in addition to any player
registration fees that may apply. An application for registration of a player
will not be processed until all fees, including the levy, have been
received.
Each registering individual will only pay
the levy once per year. Some families find it hard to contribute their time and
if they are unable or choose not to contribute their time then the $40 will be
retained by the club. Funds not reimbursed within the season will be used by
the club to lighten the load of the volunteer group.
Partial refunds will not apply where a
person/family has generated less than the required hours/ completed required
activities.
How do I qualify for a refund of the Volunteer Levy?
The levy is fully refunded at the end of
the season to those families who have volunteered or have met the requirements as
listed below. Normal weekly team duties do not count toward the hours that
qualify for refund of the levy. These duties are a commitment to your, or your
child's, team, rather than to the Club as a whole; they are generally performed
when you are already at training or a game with your child, and as such require
only a minimal additional commitment of time. Agreeing to assist with normal
team duties is a condition of registration and is expected of everybody.
How is the Levy refund administered?

the requirements in the approved voluntary roles/activities. These include:
